What's Up With Religion? (A Study in Genre Drama) 4/6/2007 14:08:35 In "On the evolutionary basis of religion" Tozier examines religion ~ much to my delight.
He ponders a "Bunch of stories about how a select few dominate whole cultures by being proxy enforcers of supposed divine will", looking at several of the current fad hypothesis, and asking the question, "Why then do so many belong to the religion?"
His fundamental finding? I'm so glad you asked!
"Religion arose and flourished because it justifies and enhances an innate and universal human need to boss other people around."
Amen.
(Now you say, "Amen," too. Or I'll kick you out of my cult.)
